If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I have been posting my blog but stopped when i got queries from subscribers about why I haven’t been posting.  I was surprised because I was sending posts.  I found out that there was a problem with Feedburner.  When I checked to see where the problem was, it appeared that I was not the only publisher whose posts were not being published.

I couldn’t find out anymore information so I decided to stop posting and wait for a solution.  Recently, I checked back and it appears the problem has been corrected.  I am posting this to apologize to my subscribers for the lapse and to test the system.

Please leave me a comment or send a email that this post has been received.  I want to continue womeninspiritualexpression.com because I enjoy the people I have met through it.  I will restart posting.  I hope to hear from you soon.

Punxsutawney Phil’s Predicitions

Posted on timeJanuary 31st, 2010 by userGaynel Webb in catMiscellaneous    flagNo Comments

Blog Clog:  Subscribers have been notifying me that they are not getting my posts.  I checked with FeedBurner and others are having the same problem.  I apologize for the inconvenience and will keep posting while FeedBurner works to correct the issue.

Groundhog Day

Today’s post has nothing to do with business or spiritual expression. There have been problems with blogs not publishing through FeedBurner, so, I decided to write a general post to see if the problem has been fixed.  I have also noted above as I always do when there are problems posting that there is a Blog Clog.  I am asking subscribers to comment here to let me know you received this so I can try to determine if it a few people are receiving it or nobody is receiving it.  Please comment or email me.

In the United States, February is a month of anticipation, romance, and remembrance.  In Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, people from all over gather on February 2 to watch Punxsutawney Phil make a prediction of how many more weeks of winter to expect.  Groundhog Day is also celebrated in Canada.

Most have probably heard of Groundhog Day due to the popularity of the movie with the same name, released in 1993.  Groundhog Day in Punxsutawney which began in 1886 has been celebrated for over 120 years in Pennsylvania.  It has become so popular that each year it is a media event.

The keepers of Punxsutawney Phil, as he has been named by the Inner Circle, claim he is the original groundhog and is fed a magic elixir that expands his life for seven years.  Phil is fortunate because groundhogs live ten years in captivity and about six years in the wild.  Go figure.

He also speaks ‘groundhogese’ to the Inner Circle after he has made his predictions.  Apparently, only the Inner Circle, who can be distinguished from the rest of us because they wear their official uniform with the black top hats, can understand him.  However, I don’t know what there is to talk about because his predictions are quite simple.  If he sees his shadow and returns to his burrow there will be six more weeks of winter for the United States.  If he doesn’t see his shadow, we will have an early spring.  Perhaps he shares what he dreams; groundhogs are one of the few animals that engage in ‘true hibernation’.

Whatever, Phil predicts tomorrow, hope for the best but be prepared for the worse.  I am a bit of a skeptic when it comes to early spring predictions, I suppose it is because I have experienced many long Pennsylvania winters.
