How Do You Spend Your Downtime Contest?

Posted on timeJanuary 31st, 2009 by useradmin    flag(4) Comments

All of us get time off from our jobs. We want to spend this time enjoying family and friends, catching up on various chores, working with our hobbies and in general, destressing.  That is a lot to handle in just two days a week.  So, I am offering a contest/poll for February, and the winner will receive Glinda Bridgforth’s  Girl! Series.

Glinda Bridgforth, a leading financial expert, has written three books geared to African American women who want to reorganize their finances and begin to build the life you truly want. However, these are good books and the information does not exclude other cultures.  ‘Get Your Money Straight,’ Make Your Money Grow,’ and ‘Get Your Credit Straight’ take a straightforward, down to earth approach to achieving financial stability and getting your credit in order.  You can read more about Glinda Bridgforth at her website:  www.bridgforthfinancial.com/bio.htm

This is my first C O N T E S T! and these are the rules to enter:

  • Sign up to receive WISE daily blog
  • Post a comment about what you do in your downtime to achieve your goals
  • Post your suggestion on how to get personal downtime while living with a busy family
  • Then, post comments on the February daily blogs. The best post with the most comments wins the book series.  Its as simple as that to win.

I will post the poll results in March but I will let you know who is leading during the month. If you decide you no longer want to receive WISE after the contest, although, I can’t imagine why, you can unsubscribe.

If you are a WISE woman or want to become one, please sign up to receive updates by RSS or your Email inbox and leave your comments. The 24th Annual Stellar Awards 2009 winners have been announced.  The big winner was Marvin Sapp for winning ‘Artist of the Year, ‘Song of the Year,’ ‘Male Vocalist of the Year,’ and ‘CD of the Year.’  The producer of his album Alvin Lindsay won two awards ‘Producer of the Year’ and Recorded Music Package of the Year for ‘Thirsty’. Get the full list at www.thestellarawards.com/soul.  Donnie McClurkin, Sinbad and Dorinda Clarke Cole were this year’s hosts.

Music Blast

Last night I came across a new artist that I think is really great.  Niyoki is out of Nashville, Tennessee and I find her music refreshing, upbeat and the lyrics are good.  Her CD ‘Rest’ is moving up the charts and I expect her to continue soaring.  Her songs ‘Joy’ and ‘I Wanna’ had me swaying in my chair.

This album has been out a few months but I think if I hadn’t heard it others may not have heard it. Someone mentioned she sounds like Mary J Blige. I don’t know that much about Mary J’s music but the few songs I’ve heard were good.  I am wishing Niyoki more blessings as she follows her God given path. Here is Niyoki’s official site www.myspace.com/Niyoki. Take a listen and support her if you like her sounds. Niyoki is a Woman In Spiritual Expression.

It’s the weekend again…treat yourself to personal downtime.
